Why SaccoSphere exists
SaccoSphere was built because cooperatives deserve the same operational rigour as commercial banks — without the enterprise price tag, the eighteen-month rollout, or a senior accountant chained to a spreadsheet.
A SACCO is a financial institution. It holds members' savings, underwrites credit, issues shares and answers to a regulator. Yet the tools most cooperatives rely on were never designed for any of that. The result is manual journals, unreconcilable mobile money, and board packs assembled by hand.
So we built the operating system we believe cooperatives should have had all along: configurable products instead of hard-coded rules, real double-entry accounting underneath every transaction, maker-checker control over money movement, and an audit trail that stands up to scrutiny.
